Overview
We are a growing, privately held real estate investment and development firm with an approximately $100M portfolio of industrial and commercial assets held across multiple entities. Our platform is actively acquiring, developing, refinancing, and operating real estate with a long-term ownership mindset.
As the company scales, we are building internal financial infrastructure to support portfolio growth, improve reporting, and reduce reliance on third-party accounting providers.
ResponsibilitiesCore Accounting & Close Process
- Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple entities and properties
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements
- Maintain GAAP-compliant accounting policies and procedures
- Oversee general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
Real Estate & Portfolio Accounting
- Manage property-level accounting including rent rolls and CAM reconciliations
- Track loan balances and amortization schedules
- Manage intercompany and related-party transactions
- Support accounting for acquisitions, refinancing, developments, and dispositions
Cash Management & Controls
- Oversee cash management and bank reconciliations
- Implement internal controls and approval workflows
- Support lender reporting and covenant compliance
External Coordination
- Work with external CPAs on tax filings, K-1s, and year-end close
- Assist ownership with financial reporting
Growth Into Controller Role
- Full ownership of company-wide accounting and reporting
- Oversight of accounting staff and providers
- Strategic financial reporting and system development
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Multi-entity accounting experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Preferred: CPA or CPA-track
- Experience with private real estate portfolios
- Familiarity with partnership accounting
- Experience with Buildium, Yardi and Quick Books
- Competitive compensation initially
