Part Time Senior Accountant

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Part-Time Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive accounting expertise to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and efficient financial management. Transaction Categorization & Project Assignment

• Categorize all transactions accurately and consistently.
• Assign all COGS entries to the appropriate Project.
• Create expenses and bills using provided receipts/invoices and match bank/credit transactions to supporting documentation.

Monthly Reconciliations

• Reconcile all bank and credit card accounts each month.
• Complete monthly sales tax reconciliation and ensure timely filing and payment.

Loan & Liability Management

• Track loan balances, including monthly principal and interest allocations.
• Maintain accurate schedules for all outstanding debt.

Year-End Preparation

• Identify potential 1099 recipients and gather required W-9s and supporting documents.
• Prepare year-end schedules and assist with document requests for tax filings.

Fixed Asset Management

• Record new fixed asset additions and maintain depreciation schedules.
• Review and account for asset disposals as needed.

Other Duties

• Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections using accounting software such as Quick Books, Xero, Sage, or People Soft.
• Perform journal entries, accruals, and double-entry bookkeeping to maintain precise financial records.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial report writing to inform strategic decision-making.
• Reconcile bank statements through bank reconciliation processes; analyze financial reports for accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
• Contribute to process improvements in financial management workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy across all accounting functions.

• Strong technical accounting skills with expertise in GAAP, accrual accounting, double-entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Quick Books, Xero, Sage, People Soft or similar platforms; experience with Microsoft Excel for financial analysis is essential.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance procedures and regulatory reporting standards.
• Experience in public accounting environments is highly desirable.
• Ability to interpret complex financial concepts.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform general ledger review.
• Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
