Surveyor​/Grade Checker

JWright Companies is seeking an experienced Grade Checker to support construction staking and grading operations on projects throughout the Heber Valley area. This position plays a critical role in ensuring grading, excavation, and utility work are completed accurately and according to project plans and specifications.

The ideal candidate will have experience reading civil construction plans, interpreting grade stakes, calculating slopes, cuts, and fills, and operating Trimble survey equipment and GPS rover systems. This is a hands‑on outdoor position requiring physical activity in varying weather and terrain conditions.

This position is primarily outdoors on active construction sites in the Heber Valley area. Candidates must be comfortable working in dirt, dust, varying temperatures, and changing site conditions.

Previous experience as a Grade Checker in heavy civil or site construction preferred

Ability to read and understand construction plans and grade stakes

Familiarity with Trimble GPS and survey equipment

Strong math and problem‑solving skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Reliable transportation and dependable attendance

Valid driver’s license preferred

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Ability to climb ladders and navigate uneven terrain

Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions

Standing, walking, bending, and physical movement throughout the workday
