This role is for a Senior Project Architect in Murray, UT within the Buildings + Places practice, which includes architects, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism and planning, strategy + workplace consulting, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory and cost and program management. The team works on a wide range of projects across markets such as Science & Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Commercial, Aerospace, Higher Education, Industrial and Process, Transportation, Aviation and Federal sectors.

Job Description

As a Senior Project Architect at AECOM you will combine creativity, technical aptitude and team leadership to design and create sustainably responsible, functional solutions for clients. Murray, UT.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, shape and guide the development of innovative and functional architectural designs in concert with other Architects, Designers, and Project Managers.
  • Assist project managers in managing client relationships and team collaboration and communication.
  • Utilize architectural software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM) for detailed project plans and drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and regulations across a diverse portfolio of projects.
  • Integrate sustainable design principles into projects.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, providing regular feedback and support to nurture growth and foster a collaborative studio environment.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including other in-house engineers and external consultants.
  • Address design and technical challenges with creative problem-solving.
  • Present design ideas clearly and persuasively to clients and stakeholders; maintain strong relationships through effective communication, active listening and responsive feedback.
  • Review drawings and specifications for accuracy and quality.
  • Stay current with industry trends, adopting new technologies and methodologies.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture plus a minimum of six (6) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Licensed Architect

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (BArch) or Bachelor of Science in Architecture plus Master’s degree in Architecture with 10+ years of relevant experience in design, resolving technical issues, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience supporting multiple building typologies and markets such as Federal.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate design concepts, collaborate across disciplines and develop graphics to support communications.
  • Positive, collaborative spirit with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Revit and BIM; experience with AutoCAD, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, InDesign, Rhino, Enscape, Sketch Up or other visualization tools.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, construction, and structures with ability to complete code studies.
  • Experience developing details and construction documents.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of project-specific specifications.
  • Ability to work independently or with senior architects to lead integrated design teams from concept through construction document completion; may perform construction administration.
  • Ability to be client-facing and lead client discussions and charrettes.
  • LEED Certification.

Offered compensation will be based on location and qualifications. The expected range is USD 115,000 – USD 145,000 per year.
