Tutor Non-Certified, Student Writing & Reading Center; Part Time

Under supervision of the Director College Writing and Reading Centers the tutor conducts one to one and small-group conferences with student writers and readers. These conferences are response-oriented, and focus on learning about and through writing.

• Coaching/consulting/assisting students with writing assignments
• Completion of tracking/assessment documentation
• Initial & in-service (ongoing) training
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to communicate effectively and relate well with others.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions effectively.

• Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.

• Minimum 2.5 GPA
• Successful completion of English 1010 or equivalent with a B or better.
• Currently enrolled SLCC student.
• Completion of English 1810 or equivalent tutor education course.
• Multilingual.
