Overview

Coda Octopus Engineering Inc., a division of Coda Octopus Group, is a certified small business in search of a creative Mechanical Engineer who can design items including custom electronics enclosures, rugged miniature computers, underwater sonar components, and large rugged servers. Many of these designs will require unique solutions for heat removal. We are also looking for a Mechanical Engineer skilled at designing and building prototypes using additive and 3D printing processes.

The engineering team at Coda Octopus Engineering is small and experienced, dedicated to working on programs spanning sustainment of legacy military electronics to new development using the latest state-of-the-art technologies.

The Mechanical Engineering candidate must be able to read and understand requirements, interact with other members of the technical staff, design and oversee fabrication of mechanical assemblies, perform engineering analyses, create production and assembly drawings, and participate in design reviews. The candidate should understand the overall product engineering process, from design kick-off to production; and must be capable of interacting with the various disciplines involved in production of a product.

The Mechanical Engineering candidate must be able to secure a Security Clearance.

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher
  • At least 5 - 7 years in relevant industry experience
Required Skills / Experience
  • Machined, sheet metal, and 3D printed part design
  • Design creativity
  • Material and component selection
  • Working with shops and component vendors
  • Assembly and production drawings
  • Experience programming and operating 3D printers to create prototype models
  • Knowledge of military specifications and standards
  • Thermal management design and analysis
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Full-time position – in-person at Murray, UT location
