RoleAs a Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health, you will support the clinical team by:
- Providing patient care under the direction of the clinician, assisting the provider to gather information relevant to the patient’s visit and condition.
- Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through telephone and in‑person interactions.
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or one year of Medical Assistant experience, or a current RN/LPN license.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers, obtained prior to start date.
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of patient satisfaction.
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Utah only:
If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a year‑long MA residency program.
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
- Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
- Current national MA certification (RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or CMA).
- See and read information, labels, and assess patient needs.
- Operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Communicate verbally and interpret spoken information and alarms quickly.
- Manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision; frequent computer use and typing.
- Lift, transfer, and move patients and equipment, sometimes up to heavy weights.
- Ambulate patients and transport supplies; push/pull gurneys and portable equipment.
- Navigate crowded and busy rooms with equipment and power cords.
- Stand for extended periods.
- For roles that require driving, operate a vehicle safely.
Intermountain Health Intermountain Medical Center, Murray, Utah
Schedule40 hours per week; hourly rate $19.87 - $28.31, dependent on experience.
