Full-Time Surgical Scheduler

Location:

Murray, Utah

Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Full-Time Surgical Scheduler to work with one of our busy Orthopedic Spine Surgeons. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in surgical prior authorizations, scheduling and coordinating surgeries at multiple locations (includes surgical equipment and surgical reps), and ensuring a well-managed schedule that aligns with the needs of patients, the surgeon, and medical facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prior Authorization:
    Obtain surgery prior authorizations from insurances in a timely manner.
  • Schedule Coordination:
    Manage and schedule surgeries on multiple platforms (Provider's Outlook calendar, Epic, Murray Surgery Center, etc.).
  • Patient Communication:
    Serve as a point of contact for surgery patients, providing clear communication regarding surgical schedules, pre-operative preparations, and post-operative follow-ups.
  • Documentation:
    Accurately enter and maintain patient records in the scheduling and EHR system, safeguarding patient confidentiality and adhering to compliance standards.
  • Collaboration:

    Work closely with surgeon, NP's, and Medical Assistant to coordinate the components of a successful surgery day.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Address scheduling conflicts or changes (cancellations, rescheduling, etc.) and communicate adjustments to all relevant parties promptly and efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Professional attitude.
  • Previous experience working with surgical scheduling and prior authorizations is required.
  • Knowledge of Insurances and insurance requirements is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 360 and Outlook (Advanced MD is a plus, but not required).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of surgeries and sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism.
