Location: Intermountain Medical Center — Murray, Utah
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Sign-on Bonus: $5,000 for eligible certified applicants (also available after you’ve been trained and moved into the CT role)
AboutThe Role
Intermountain Health is seeking a Specialty Tech in Training or fully trained CT Tech to join our Imaging team at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. This full-time role provides structured on‑the‑job training for caregivers enrolled in CT registry programs, building the clinical and technical skills needed to become a registered CT Technologist.
Specialty Tech In Training ScopeWorks at least 80% of time training in the respective specialty area. Must obtain applicable registry within 1 year of moving into this job, if the specialty area requires registration.
What You’ll Do (Job Essentials)- Ensure accurate patient identification and order verification; prepare patients for exams; assist with contrast administration.
- Position patients effectively for scans using strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Perform exams per consistent department protocols and transmit all pertinent data for radiologist review.
- Proactively assess image quality and adjust as needed to deliver diagnostic‑quality scans.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, cleaning, and calibration; adjust for patient size, age, and condition; recognize and report equipment issues.
- Contribute to department operations (stock management, quality improvement, clean work areas).
- Demonstrate effective radiation and pathogen protection for patients and self.
- Follow protocols for medical necessity, consents, coding/charging, and documentation of events.
- Actively pursue learning of new procedures and advancements in the specialty area.
- Thoroughly and accurately complete all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.
- Successful completion of formal RT training from an ARRT‑approved school.
- BLS certification for healthcare providers.
- Current State of Utah Radiology Tech License.
- ARRT License and current State of Utah Radiology Tech License – or – eligibility to take the applicable CT registry.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$35.25 - $54.39
