Job Overview
The Radiology Technologist Assistant supports imaging technologists in performing diagnostic imaging procedures. The role includes preparing patients for exams, ensuring their comfort and safety, and working collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Shift & CompensationFull time, 7 on–7 off. Graveyard shift 10pm–8am. Hourly pay $18.22 – $23.68, dependent on experience.
Primary Responsibilities- Assist in preparing patients for imaging exams.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Assist patients on and off procedure tables and to and from procedure rooms.
- Coordinate patient care and communicate pertinent information to other providers following procedures.
- Inspect transport equipment and notify appropriate personnel when repair is needed.
- Transport patients to and from the Imaging Department.
- May perform IV insertion upon certification and skill pass‑off.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with patients, technologists, and health‑care professionals.
- Understand and adhere to safety regulations for imaging modalities.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency using electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in following instructions.
- Works effectively as part of a team.
- Maintains a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Prioritizes tasks and problem‑solves efficiently.
- High School Diploma.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Caregivers certification.
- Preferred: experience in patient care or customer service.
- Physical ability to see and read information, manipulate equipment, lift and carry patients, and use computers for documentation.
- Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the shift.
Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, and assess patient needs; frequent verbal communication; manual dexterity for precise equipment handling; frequent computer use and typing; lift and transfer patients; roll, bend, and carry supplies and equipment, often heavy; navigate crowded rooms; stand for extended periods.
