Overview
The Radiology Technologist Assistant provides support to imaging technologists in performing various diagnostic imaging procedures, assists in preparing patients, ensures comfort and safety throughout the process, and collaborates in a fast‑paced environment.
ShiftFull Time, 7 on-7 off;
Graveyard night shift 10pm-8am.
- Accountable for safe and effective delivery of patient care under the direction of the technologist.
- Assists in preparing the patient for the exam and is sensitive to their needs while in their care.
- Assists patients on and off procedure tables and to and from procedure rooms.
- Assists and/or oversees coordination of patient care.
- Coordinates patient care and communicates pertinent information to other patient care providers following procedure.
- Routinely inspects transport equipment and notifies appropriate personnel when repair is necessary.
- Transports patients to and from the Imaging department, while ensuring their comfort and safety.
- May perform IV insertion upon certification and skill pass off.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Understands and adheres to specific safety regulations or guidelines for the various imaging modalities.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in using electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Works effectively as part of a team.
- Maintains a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff.

- Patient care or customer service experience
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent verbal communication with patient care providers, patients, and visitors, especially in emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients; bending, lifting, and carrying supplies and equipment, including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment; includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, often navigating crowded rooms.
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
Intermountain Health Intermountain Medical Center, Murray, Utah
Work Hours35 hours per week. Hourly rate: $18.22 – $23.68, depending on experience.
