Job Description

Perform all diagnostic procedures within Scope of Practice under the supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist. This position is temporary, with an expectation of transition to a Radiology Tech Reg role as soon as possible. Employees are expected not to remain in this role longer than six months after completing clinical hours.

• Practice within the scope of state licensure
• Maintain ARRT or modality‑specific competency in all clinical and technical functions
• Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and preparation of the patient for the exam
• Perform exams per department protocol and review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy
• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment
• Complete studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality
• Provide appropriate patient education, ensure patient comfort, and address concerns
• Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques
• Understand and operate equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images
• Keep accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures

• Currently enrolled in a JRCERT or AMA approved school of radiologic technology with documented completion of clinical and didactic training as required by state regulations
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers

• Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies
• Frequent interaction with patient care providers, patients, and visitors requiring verbal communication, hearing, and rapid, accurate understanding of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues—particularly during emergencies
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use and typing for documentation, medication preparation, and other tasks
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of motion to transfer patients, bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, and handle items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
• Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients, acquiring and distributing supplies and equipment, and navigating crowded and busy rooms (with equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
• May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
