Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department
Registered Nurses (RN) are professional caregivers responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The RN utilizes the nursing process, technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence-based practice, and coordinates care with health team members.
Key Responsibilities- Assess
:
Perform appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as needed. - Plan
:
Use assessment data and critical thinking to collaboratively develop individualized plans of care; involve patient, family, team, and physician. - Implement
:
Direct, delegate, and coordinate interdisciplinary care; provide or delegate care consistent with plan and regulatory standards; prioritize and manage time, supplies, and resources. - Evaluate
:
Review patient response to interventions, assess goal achievement and outcomes; revise plan of care and re‑assess as required. - Professionalism
:
Promote the nursing profession; integrate legal and ethical standards; comply with regulatory requirements; maintain accurate documentation.
- Current RN license in the state of practice. Compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days of hire.
- RN experience of at least one year, preferably in an Emergency Department or high‑acuity setting.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- BSN degree required for hires after 4/27/2025; those hired before this date may satisfy earlier requirements.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
Ongoing need to see, read, and communicate verbally; manipulate complex equipment; lift and transfer patients; walk and assist with patient movement; drive a vehicle if required.
