Posting Specifics
  • Entry Rate: $38.77+/hour (based on experience)

  • Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), rotating 10-hour shifts
  • Location: Intermountain Medical Center – IP & OP Ultrasound
Minimum Qualifications
  • Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) - Successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, pediatric, and vascular)
  • Health Services BCLS - Basic life support (Certification for Healthcare Providers)
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 or more years of experience.
Essential Functions
  • Maintains ARDMS certification and modality-specific competency.
  • Verifies patient identification and orders; prepares patients for exams.
  • Performs ultrasound exams per protocol and ensures image quality, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Completes studies efficiently without compromising patient care or quality.
  • Educates patients, ensures comfort, and addresses questions or concerns.
  • Supports and trains students and team members on procedures, positioning, and equipment.
  • Follows infection control, sterile technique, and safety protocols.
  • Operates imaging equipment and related systems to produce high-quality results.
  • Accurately documents patient information, procedures, and any adverse events.
  • Adheres to protocols for medical necessity, coding, consents, and equipment quality control.

Specialty Tech in Training, starting at $32.02/hour

Minimum Qualifications
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Applicable State License
  • Currently attending and receiving formal training from an accredited training program or successful completion of formal training from an approved/accredited school or a licensed American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) technologist who has been selected to cross-train in another modality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years customer service or patient care experience
  • IV Certification
Physical Requirements
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
