Job Description

Utilize clinical expertise to perform psychosocial assessments, develop and implement plans of care with the appropriate care team, assess crisis situations to provide needed resources and/or referrals for the patient, and deliver family and individual treatment as indicated. Work collaboratively with patients, their significant others, families, healthcare providers, insurers, community resources, and all other involved parties.

This position is for our new Copper Hills Clinic opening November 2026.

Bonus Details

To assist with transition into our organization, we offer a $2,500.00 sign‑on bonus (external candidates only).

This role requires up to a 60‑90 day credentialing process. Selected candidates must successfully complete it prior to starting.

Scope
  • Therapist for the mental health and substance abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Intermountain Behavioral Health, Cottonwood Campus.
  • The IOP provides multidisciplinary structured services at a greater frequency and intensity than routine outpatient treatment. Common modalities include individual, family, group psychotherapy and medication management.
  • Position located in the Cottonwood Psychiatry and Counseling Department, TOSH campus. Shifts are Monday‑Friday, 9 am‑5 pm with some flexibility around program needs; availability for 6 evenings per month is required.
  • Candidate must have experience in brief therapy, solution‑focused therapy, DBT training, CBT training, trauma‑informed care, and/or group counseling.
Job Essentials
  • Assesses patient medical history, mental health and substance abuse history, and current presentation to understand treatment needs.
  • Diagnoses and treats various mental, emotional and behavioral disorders.
  • Develops a plan of care individually or with input from the patient, family/significant others, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
  • Provides treatment based on patient need using evidence‑based interventions.
  • Refers patients to community services, treatment programs, support groups, or other mental health providers to improve well‑being.
  • Documents pertinent information in relation to the patient’s plan of care.
  • Works with the multidisciplinary team to develop a discharge plan ensuring continuity of care.
  • Provides psychological testing as indicated by the patient’s condition.
  • Complies with federal, state, local, and clinical program/facility standards.
  • Provides care and treatment within the scope of the Mental Health Practice Act.

Will also consider CMHC licensure.

Salary

Hourly rate: $35.25 – $54.39, based on licensure and experience.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current Utah State licensure as LCSW or CMHC.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of developing and implementing IOP services.
  • Proficiency in substance‑abuse treatment, CBT, DBT, treatment planning, psychoeducation, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.
