Job Description
The Dialysis Technician performs tasks and provides patient care as delegated by a Registered Nurse consistent with practice standards. The Technician provides competent dialysis treatment consistent with treatment prescription, observes the patient's physiologic response to treatment, and reports any variation to the charge RN as indicated.
Posting Specifics- Pay Range: $20.07 – $28.59 per hour (Uncertified) and $22.10 – $34.11 per hour (Certified) based on experience.

Full‑time, 36 hours/week, 3 × 12‑hour shifts/week, occasional 4‑hour float shifts;
Evening shifts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday; on call and weekend required. - Location:
Outpatient Dialysis, Intermountain Medical Center.
- Provide dialysis care according to policies, procedures, and guidelines, including setup, initiation, monitoring, and termination of therapy per provider orders.
- Recognize problems, take immediate action, and notify responsible parties promptly.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and caregivers by adhering to Intermountain policies.
- Document appropriately in the electronic health record.

- Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers prior to start date.
- Obtain Certified Chronic Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) certification within 18 months of hire or vacate the role.
- Current Certified Chronic Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) or Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) certification.
- Maintain an active CCHT or CHT certification.
- Obtain BLS certification for healthcare providers prior to start date.
- Dialysis experience
- Experience in a regulated healthcare environment
- Phlebotomy experience
- Ability to evaluate and interpret color‑coded test results on test strips.
- Ongoing need to see, read, and identify patient needs, and operate monitors and equipment.
- Frequent communication with patients, providers, and visitors, especially in emergencies.
- Manual dexterity for operating equipment and frequent computer use and typing.
- Lift and transfer patients; bend, lift, carry supplies up to heavy items.
- Walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and moving equipment; push/pull gurneys and portable equipment; navigate crowded rooms.
- Stand for extended periods as required.
- For roles requiring driving: expected to drive a vehicle and read signage.
