Position: Pharmacy Technician (PRN)

KPC Promise Hospital of SALT LAKE:
Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Pharmacy/ Pharmacist, the pharmacist performs a variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program. The pharmacist maintains confidential reports, enters and retrieves data utilizing the computer system, prepares medications, fills the automated medication dispensing system with a supply of unit dose medications, procures, and fills requests for pharmaceutical supplies and delivers supplies to nursing units.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Graduate or Equivalent

Six to twelve months of pharmacy experience preferred

Must be able to read, write, and speak English

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical:
Walking - up to 50%
Standing - up to 70%
Kneeling - up to 20%
Sitting- up to 20%
Pushing - up to 20%
Bending - up to 40%
Squatting - up to 20%
Pulling - up to 20%
Reaching - up to 30%
Lifting - up to 30 lbs
Wrist/Finger Movements - up to 90%
Mental:
Stress Level: Low to Moderate

EXPOSURE RISK:

Category III - Jobs in which required tasks involve no greater exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues than would be encountered by a visitor. The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, MATERIALS, MACHINES USED:

Computer, telephone, pager, copier, printer, facsimile machine, calculator.

CERTIFICATIONS:

Pharmacy tech license.
