Under the supervision of the Course Coordinator, the adjunct faculty member aids in instructing various Emergency Medical Technician related classes and skills to community college students. May be assigned to any SLCC location.

  • 1. Support and aid the Course Coordinator in teaching classes to facilitate student learning.
  • 2. Adhere to current course outlines and/or syllabi.
  • 3. Demonstrate a depth of understanding in the field of Emergency Medical Services at the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic level.
  • 4. Attend required training and department meetings, as invited.
  • 5. Demonstrate and support professional commitment to division, School, and College mission and values.
  • 6. Maintain a supportive attitude toward work, students, colleagues, and administration.
  • 7. Support College policies.
  • 8. Other job related duties as required.

All Faculty will maintain an on-site campus presence to encourage in-person relationships and create engaging, meaningful, and impactful learning experiences.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people, culture, ethnic background, and abilities, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
  • The ability to work with all groups in a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
Requirements
  • 1) In accordance with SLCC policy, adjunct positions are offered on a semester-by-semester basis with no guarantee of continued employment.
  • 2) Official transcripts are required for those who are offered employment within in 30 days of hire.
  • 1. Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic, currently certified by the Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
  • 2. Two (2) years non-teaching full-time (or full-time equivalent) work experience in Emergency Medical Services as a certified Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic level.
  • 3. Knowledge and experience in Emergency Medical Services.
  • 4. Currently certified as an EMS Instructor by the Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
