  • Support and aid the Course Coordinator in teaching classes to facilitate student learning.
  • Adhere to current course outlines and/or syllabi.
  • Demonstrate a depth of understanding in the field of Emergency Medical Services at the Basic Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic level.
  • Attend required training and department meetings, as invited.
  • Demonstrate and support professional commitment to division, School, and College mission and values.
  • Maintain a supportive attitude toward work, students, colleagues, and administration.
  • Support College policies.
  • Other job related duties as required.
  • This is a pooled position. The department reviews applications as positions become available.

    • In accordance with SLCC policy, adjunct positions are offered on a semester-by-semester basis with no guarantee of continued employment.
    • Official transcripts are required for those who are offered employment within in 30 days of hire.
  • Becomes familiar with, and abides by, all college policies with immediate priority given to those policies that govern interactions with colleagues, staff, administrators, and departments throughout the organization
  • Maintains professional etiquette in communications with students, staff, faculty, and administrators.
  • Assists in maintaining a safe and mutually respectful instructional environment

  • Maintains professional appearance as defined by the discipline and/or College procedure
  • Completes all required employee trainings
  • Knows and enforces FERPA guidelines

  • Other duties as assigned
  • 1. Basic Emergency Medical Technician or higher level of certification, currently certified by the Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
  • 2. Two (2) years non-teaching full-time (or full-time equivalent) work experience in Emergency Medical Services as a certified Basic Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic level.
  • 3. Knowledge and experience in Emergency Medical Services.
  • 4. Currently certified as an EMS Instructor by the Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
