Position Overview Intermountain Health is recruiting an experienced MRI Technologist to join our clinical team at Intermountain Medical Center. If you are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and thrive in a supportive environment that prioritizes professional growth, we want to meet you. This position operates on a 7 days on, 7 days off schedule working night shifts with 10-hour shifts per day.
Compensation and Incentives Qualified applicants are eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $7,500 and relocation assistance when applicable. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $39.16 to $60.42, depending on experience level. Scheduled weekly hours total 35.Core Responsibilities You will maintain current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification or modality-specific competency while performing all clinical and technical functions.
Your duties include verifying patient identification and orders, preparing patients for examinations, and executing imaging studies according to departmental protocols. You will evaluate all images for quality, clarity, and diagnostic accuracy while strictly adhering to MRI safety guidelines to maintain a secure work environment.
You will complete studies within established time frames without sacrificing patient care or image quality. Mentoring and instruction of students and fellow technologists in exam protocols, positioning techniques, and equipment operation falls within your scope. Patient education, comfort measures, and addressing patient concerns represent essential aspects of your role. You will implement appropriate infection control and sterile techniques throughout all procedures, operate imaging equipment and related information systems competently, and maintain thorough documentation of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
You will follow all protocols related to medical necessity, coding, charging, consent procedures, quality control programs, and equipment failure reporting.
Required Qualifications You must hold current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(MR) certification, American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certification, or ARRT(R) with MRI cross-training. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers is mandatory. You must obtain IV competency certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications One to two years of MRI technologist experience and a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution are preferred.

Physical and Work Requirements You will frequently read information, labels, and monitors to assess patient needs and identify equipment. You will regularly interact with healthcare providers, patients, and visitors, requiring clear verbal communication and the ability to quickly understand spoken information, alarms, and urgent needs, particularly during emergencies. Manual dexterity with hands and fingers is essential for manipulating complex equipment with precision and frequent computer use for documentation.
You will regularly lift patients and use full range of movement for transfers. Bending to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment of varying weights, including heavy items, is expected. Walking to assist with patient transport, obtaining and distributing supplies, and pushing or pulling gurneys and portable equipment is required. Navigation through crowded, busy spaces filled with equipment and power cords is typical.
You may stand stationary for extended periods.
