Job Description
The Solutions Center Physician Benefits Consultant serves as a specialized benefits expert supporting physicians and physician residents at Intermountain Health. This role delivers benefits orientations, provides one‑on‑one consultations, and serves as a primary point of contact for complex benefits inquiries, ensuring a high‑quality consultative service experience. The consultant also contributes to process improvement initiatives, supports team capability through training and knowledge sharing, and partners with key stakeholders to ensure accurate, compliant, and consistent benefits administration.
Note:
This position requires onsite orientations with new Physician Residents annually. Therefore, living within 50 miles of Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT is required.
- Provide expert guidance on employee benefit programs, including health, retirement, and life event processing, ensuring accurate and compliant administration.
- Deliver benefits orientations and presentations to physicians and residents, translating complex information into clear, actionable guidance.
- Provide high‑touch support for physicians and residents through one‑on‑one provider consultations that exemplify strong customer service.
- Lead and contribute to projects and process improvement initiatives, supporting the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of benefits workflows and service delivery models.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for team members, providing training, coaching, and guidance on systems, processes, and benefits knowledge to enhance team capability and performance.

- Functional human resources experience in either employee relations, compensation/benefit administration, training/development, learning, or employment/recruiting.
- Strong understanding of human resources, or similar field of work, principles, practices, laws and regulations.
- Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, role, and terminology.
- Experience coaching and training others in the use of enterprise software or service management systems.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Experience supporting high‑touch employee populations and managing complex or escalated HR or benefits cases.
- 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration, HR operations, or HR service center environments.
- Experience providing consultative HR or benefits support in a customer‑facing environment.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Workday or similar HRIS platforms, including execution of complex benefits transactions, workflow management, and issue resolution.
- Experience utilizing case management platforms (e.g., Service Now, Service Matters) to manage, document, and resolve employee inquiries with accuracy and timeliness.
- Experience delivering presentations, orientations, or training sessions to professional or clinical audiences.
- Interact with others requiring employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.
- Operate computers, telephones, office equipment, including manipulating paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
- See and read computer monitors and documents.
- Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
Employee Service Center – Murray, Utah
Hours & SalaryScheduled weekly hours: 40. Hourly rate: $30.55 – $48.12 per hour.
