Salt Lake Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and personable HR Assistant to support the day-to‑day operations of the Human Resources department. This role provides administrative and clerical support across recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and compliance functions. The ideal candidate is organized, discreet with confidential information, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support full-cycle recruitment: post job openings, screen applications, schedule interviews, and coordinate communication with candidates
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, including paperwork, orientation scheduling, and system setup
- Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment support and answering employee questions
- Track and maintain required licensure, certification, and credentialing documentation for clinical and non‑clinical staff
- Support employee relations activities, including documentation, scheduling meetings, and maintaining confidential files
- Assist with payroll‑related data entry and timekeeping system support as needed
- Help coordinate training sessions, compliance modules, and staff development programs
- Prepare HR reports, correspondence, and presentations as requested
- Respond to routine employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and benefits
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission, and other applicable healthcare regulations
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives and events
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of administrative or HR experience (healthcare setting preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience with HRIS/applicant tracking systems (e.g., UKG, Workday, ADP)
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA, Joint Commission)
- PHR/SHRM-CP certification or coursework in progress
- Discretion and confidentiality
