Data Analyst - Medical Economics

Job Description

This role involves initiating the development and deployment of data analytics at Select Health to support medical economics and value-based care programs. As a Senior Data Analyst focused on Medical Economics, you will act in a more senior capacity, contributing to the delivery of actionable insights that drive cost optimization, quality improvement, and strategic decision‑making across the organization. This role requires expertise in healthcare data analysis, predictive modeling, and the ability to communicate complex findings to executive stakeholders.

• Lead the design and execution of advanced analytics projects focused on medical cost trends, utilization, and risk adjustment.
• Provides advanced support for management level leadership in business areas.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations to senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Develops a deep understanding of customer data and business/clinical operations they support.
• Fulfills complex customer requests through data exploration, report development, and visual storytelling.
• Independently provides project updates and communicates analytic findings to their customers.
• Leads analytic work demonstrations and hands‑on training for customers to promote understanding and independent consumption of analytic work.
• Support the development and interpretation of complex data sources, including claims, eligibility, and external benchmarks.

• Health care data expertise

• Strong skills in SQL and database management tasks.
• Proficiency in developing advanced visualizations and dashboards.
• High proficiency in office applications for detailed reports and presentations.
• Strong communication skills with experience presenting data insights to senior leaders.
• Deep knowledge of healthcare data through specialized projects.
• Experience fostering team collaboration and supporting individual development.
• Demonstrated ability to stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
• Proven experience in providing mentorship and guidance to junior analysts.
• Advanced knowledge of Product Management, Project Management, or Program Management philosophies and methodologies, and capable of applying them to data analytic projects to ensure alignment with business goals and efficient execution.

• Bachelor's degree in analytics related fields such as statistics, mathematics, information systems, computer science, finance, business management, or economics and four years of relevant experience performing data analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in another area of study with six years of relevant work experience in a role performing data analysis.
• Experience with out a related degree will be considered if skill set and experience are robust.

• Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
