Role:
Collaborate with Mar Com professionals and internal and external audiences to manage approved communications projects and functions. Key responsibilities include creating and implementing communication plans, managing response to emerging issues, overseeing assigned communication channels, portfolios, and functions, building positive relationships with stakeholders and the community, working with traditional and social media to place stories and respond to inquiries, and supporting high‑priority strategies across the organization.
- Manage teams or key sub‑functions within the Mar Com team, utilizing leadership competencies such as building a successful team, coaching, customer focus, facilitating change, financial acumen, vision, and values.
- Develop communication strategies based on target audiences, market research, and business plans, continually assessing consumer and business needs.
- Support work that has a broad scope across departments and functions in support of organizational strategies and priorities.
- Manage complex and matrixed communications projects throughout the project life cycle, from concept through launch, including measuring and reporting outcomes within budget.
- Support work covering a broad geographical area (e.g., region and/or broad market with multiple facilities).
- Assist with monitoring and analyzing communication metrics to optimize strategies and report on effectiveness.
- Collaborate with stakeholders at multiple levels within the organization and inspire trust and confidence with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Produce high‑profile, highly visible work internally and/or externally, often in support of senior leaders.
- Prioritize and drive forward multiple projects independently and collaboratively.
- Influence cross‑functional teams and business functions at the enterprise level.
- Provide leadership, oversight, development, and direction to Mar Com staff according to Intermountain Values.
- Extensive leadership experience in communications, media relations, journalism, public relations, or a related field with a proven track record of managing large teams and complex projects.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft and deliver strategic messages to diverse audiences, including senior executives and external stakeholders.
- Proven expertise in writing, editing, and creating impactful marketing and/or communication plans that drive organizational goals and deliver measurable results.
- High‑level organizational and project leadership skills, with the ability to oversee multiple high‑stakes projects simultaneously and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, manage crisis communications, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining professionalism.
- Advanced proficiency with communication metrics and analytics tools, with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and optimize communication strategies for maximum impact.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, English, business, or a related field from an accredited institution.
