Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our hospice care team. In this role, you will provide holistic, patient-centered care to individuals with terminal illnesses, ensuring comfort, dignity, and quality of life during their end-of-life journey.
As a Hospice Nurse, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. You will utilize the nursing process, incorporating advanced technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence-based practices, and coordination with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. Your expertise and empathetic approach will support patients and their families with guidance and emotional support during this critical time.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans using the nursing process; coordinate with an interdisciplinary team; utilize advanced technology, therapeutic interventions, and evidence-based practices.
- Provide holistic, patient-centered care to individuals with terminal illnesses to ensure comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
- Support patients and families with guidance and emotional support during end-of-life care.
Shift Details: PRN; shifts Saturday and Sunday 8 PM– 8 AM (shift differentials available).
Unit/Location: Homecare - Denver Metro
Minimum Qualifications- Current RN license in state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
- Current driver’s license, insured and reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- RNs with less than 12 months of RN experience prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within 4 years of hire date.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous experience in an Acute Care, Home Health, or Hospice setting.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of the job description’s last update on 4/27/2025. Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements that were in place at the time of their promotion or hire.
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, and assess patient needs; operate monitors; identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent verbal communication with patients, families, and care teams; ability to hear and understand alarms and urgent needs quickly and accurately, especially during emergencies.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment; extensive computer use for documenting patient care and medication preparation.
- Ability to lift and transfer patients and move equipment; expect to navigate crowded rooms and transport supplies.
- Ability to stand for extended periods as needed for care delivery.
