Position Summary
The Nursing Graduate works under the direct line‑of‑sight supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) in the clinical setting and participates appropriately in the patient care delivery process. The incumbent is oriented to the RN assignment, excluding independent nursing care, and may participate in medication administration under the direction of the licensed RN. The role may be utilized for up to 12 weeks while employees are in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program and are working toward obtaining an RN license.
EssentialFunctions
- Assessment: Collects patient data (e.g., vital signs) under RN supervision and reports significant changes.
- Planning: Observes and discusses with the RN the prioritization of patient needs and the development of the interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Implementation: Observes implementation of the patient plan of care, considering specialized needs such as age, ethnicity, and other factors.
- Evaluation: Reports patient responses to treatments and collaborates with the RN regarding changes that may require modification of nursing interventions.
- Participates in patient/family education as determined by assessments, diagnosis, and readiness.
- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for patient care delivery within the defined role.
- Recognizes and practices legal/ethical implications of care delivery under RN supervision.
- Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing (RN) education program.
- BLS certification for healthcare providers.
- Less than 1 year of RN experience to be considered a new graduate.
- Experience with patient care delivery, nursing process, care planning, and nursing interventions.
- Interpersonal communication skills and computer literacy.

CompensationRate:
Nursing Grad – $32.27;
New Grad RN – $35.22 per hour. Shift: NIGHT.
Scheduled weekly hours: 36. All positions subject to close without notice. This position is temporary and will not continue beyond the 12‑week residency period or if the State Board exam is not passed.
