Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process with technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence‑based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members. This role is part of a collaborative Same Day Surgery team at one of Utah’s premier medical centers.

- Assess: Performs appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as appropriate. Seeks and evaluates information from the interdisciplinary team.
- Plan: Uses assessment information to collaboratively develop an individualized plan of care. Actively involves patient, family, team, and physician to develop educational plans and support needs.
- Implement: Directs the interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration. Provides or delegates care consistent with the plan, guidelines, and professional licensure provisions, and manages time and resources.
- Evaluate: Evaluates patient response to interventions, reviews achievement of goals, clinical outcomes, patient and family satisfaction, and revises the plan as needed.

- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days of starting employment.
- Registered Nurses with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of the hire date.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
Continuous need to see, read, and assess patient information; verbal communication during emergency situations; manual dexterity for handling equipment; frequent computer use and typing; lifting and transferring patients; bending, walking, and ambulating; pushing and pulling heavy equipment; standing for extended periods.

CompensationHourly rate: $35.22 – $53.29, dependent on experience.
