Overview
Full‑time night shift or 50/50 position on T8/Medical Endocrine at Intermountain Medical Center (IMC). The Registered Nurse (RN) assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using the nursing process, technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence‑based practice, and care coordination with other health team members.
Responsibilities- Assess:
Perform appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as appropriate; seek and evaluate information from interdisciplinary team members. - Plan:
Use assessment information and critical thinking skills to collaboratively develop individualized plans of care; involve patient, family, team, and physician in plan development and education. - Implement:
Direct interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration; provide or delegate care consistent with plan of care and professional licensure provisions; prioritize and organize patient care delivery. - Evaluate:
Assess patient response to interventions, review achievement of goals, clinical outcomes, patient and family satisfaction; revise and reassess plan of care as needed. - Professionalism:
Promote the nursing profession; integrate legal and ethical standards into practice; comply with regulatory standards; document accurately and timely; understand legal implications of care delivery. - Skills:
Patient care delivery, nursing fundamentals, interdisciplinary teams, documentation, professional etiquette, accountability, patient coordination, communication, patient evaluation, critical thinking.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice; valid compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days of employment start.
- RNs with less than 12 months experience must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four years of hire date.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; BSN is required as of April 27, 2025.
- Ongoing need to see, read, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent verbal communication with patients, staff, and visitors, including during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity for manipulating complex equipment; frequent computer use and typing.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and move patients and supplies, including heavy items; push and pull gurneys and portable equipment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and navigate crowded rooms.
Scheduled weekly hours: 36. Hourly range: $35.22 – $53.29, depending on experience.
