Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care of patients. The RN utilizes the nursing process by using technology, therapeutic interventions, and coordination of care with other health team members.

Staff RNs are pivotal members of the care delivery team headed by the physician and have specialized knowledge, skills, and ability pertinent to ambulatory care patient needs. Scope of performance includes prioritization and triage of care delivery, implementing standing orders and protocols, and performing procedures and therapies consistent with training and licensure. This position requires specialized knowledge and increased accountability, specific to high acuity and/or specialized patient populations (i.e. Instacares, Obstetrics, Infusion services, Sedation monitoring, etc).

- Assessment – Performs appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status (including cognitive, communicative and developmental skills as appropriate); seeks and evaluates information acquired from other members of interdisciplinary team: patient (e.g., family, physician, non-nursing disciplines, support staff).
- Planning – Uses assessment information and critical thinking skills to collaboratively develop individualized plan of care; actively seeks patient and family involvement; prepares patients for further support once care outcomes are met (i.e., teaching, referrals, follow-up).
- Implementation – Directs the interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration.
- Evaluation – Evaluates patient response to interventions through review of achievement of goals, clinical outcomes, patient and family satisfaction; revises plan of care as indicated and reassesses changes as appropriate.
- Professional Development – Promotes nursing profession and participates in development of others; facilitates appropriate professional relationships between nursing staff and physicians; integrates legal and ethical standards; complies with regulatory standards and Intermountain policy; meets competency requirements for tasks outside basic RN training.
- Participation in quality improvement initiatives (e.g. CQI, TQM, Lean).
- Ability to see and read labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent verbal communication and quick accurate listening during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment; frequent computer use and typing for documentation, medication preparation, etc.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and move patients and supplies up to heavy weights.
- Walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients; push/pull gurneys and equipment.
- May stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Current RN License in state of practice.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Practice‑specific certification as required by the clinical setting (e.g. ACLS, PALS).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a BSN within four years of start date.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.

Shift & CompensationSchedule:
Monday
- Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (40 hours per week)
Hourly range: $35.22 - $53.29, depending on experience.
