Examine patients prior to anesthesia including drawing and running bloodwork, auscultating heart for murmur, evaluating body condition score, and placing cephalic catheter. Induce anesthesia, intubate, and monitor patient vitals under anesthesia. Examine mouth, administer dental blocks, perform dental x-rays, assist veterinarian with diagnosis and extractions, suture extraction sites, administer medications, recover patient from anesthesia, and complete patient charts including go-home medications.
Provide client education regarding dental procedures. Must be proficient in communicating veterinary-specific content with clients in Spanish to assist veterinarian and lead Dental Technician with Spanish-speaking clients.
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
