Store Manager
Reporting to the District Manager, the Store Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of a single store to achieve all sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory control, brand representation, and team member growth and development to maximize the results of the store.
Through personal selling, leadership, and coaching, the Store Manager will champion a People First store environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, builds lasting customer relationships, and delivers best‑in‑class customer experience.
ResponsibilitiesCommunicates performance expectations and ensures all team members understand the impact of their performance on company success.
Coaches and develops the store staff to instill understanding of brand image and to ensure consistent representation of the brand in customer interactions and execution of store visuals and marketing.
Supports and communicates the strategic relevance of corporate initiatives and executes corporate plans to produce desired results.
Asks questions to ensure full understanding of strategy and process and ensures staff understands how the goals will be achieved.
Demonstrates the highest level of professionalism to customers and team members by displaying integrity and honesty at all times, and by conducting themselves in a manner that influences and earns the respect of team members and management.
Displays a positive and enthusiastic attitude to inspire and motivate others to achieve and attain goals.
Ensures an exceptional customer experience through effective training, customer outreach, clear expectations, and proactive issue resolution.
Empowers team members to respond to and resolve customer issues within established parameters and drives a high level of customer service through follow‑up and customer outreach.
Compiles and follows up on customer requests.
Attains sales projections and sales quotas, develops strategies to maximize personal and team sales potential while achieving goals.
Observes operations to identify successes and opportunities for improvement and coaches the store staff to resolve operational issues.
Reviews and analyzes reports, identifies trends and opportunities, and develops plans to address issues.
Monitors local competition’s marketing, merchandising, and payment programs and advises management of new or changing merchandise and services needs.
Implements initiatives that change behaviors to produce results and fosters collaboration with neighboring Signet store managers.
Maintains open communication with team members and encourages participation and idea sharing.
Ensures compliance with company policies, maintains store cleanliness, and controls discounting, expenses, payroll, and repair operations to increase profit margins.
Manages work schedule to provide adequate coverage, including opening and closing shifts, weekdays, weekends, and peak selling periods.
Performs additional duties and projects as assigned and maintains consistent attendance.
QualificationsEducation:
Minimum of 2 years of college (preferred).
Experience:
At least 3 years of retail sales experience, or 2 years of retail sales experience plus a minimum of 1 year retail management experience. Preference for specialty retail or jewelry experience.
DCA certified candidates are preferred.
Skills and Competencies- Advanced written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency with computers and MS Office.
- Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills.
- Advanced presentation skills for team training and customer presentations.
- Strong problem solving and conflict management.
- Professional communication via email, social media, video conference, telephone, and text.
- Ability to plan, organize, and meet deadlines independently.
- Ability to set priorities, delegate, and explain detailed information.
- Reliable and dependable.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
Physical DemandsRegularly requires standing, reaching, moving between display cases, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 10 pounds. Visual acuity sufficient to discern differences in gemstone quality. Standard workweek includes weekends, evenings, holidays, and extended hours. Travel to training sessions, business meetings, and overnight travel may be required.
CompensationBase pay ranges from $24.04 to $39.10 per hour plus commission on sales. Final pay rate determined based on experience and qualifications.
