Door and Access Control Specialist II
Job Description:
The Door and Access Control Specialist II is a position in the Facilities Management department that requires extensive experience and formal training in locksmith work and access control systems. In addition, the Door and Access Control Specialist I may be required to perform other maintenance tasks as needed, such as minor repairs or assisting with other projects.
Schedule: Monday‑Friday 7am‑3:30pm. Full‑time, benefits eligible (primarily at IMC with occasional off‑site facility visits).
Location: Intermountain Medical Center, Murray, Utah.
Hourly Rate: $30.77 – $46.84 (actual rate dependent on experience).
Responsibilities- Installs, maintains, and repairs locking devices for wooden medication cabinets, lock cores, and keys for metal desks and cabinets.
- Maintains a door‑locking program that permits emergency access by security and maintenance personnel at any time.
- May use specialized locking devices such as cipher, combination, or other coded locking devices that have the capability for key access.
- Maintains, repairs and rebuilds lock cores; cuts keys as needed and maintains key control for safety and security of buildings and staff.
- Adjusts and repairs hinges, latches, strikes, closing devices, etc.
- Ensures that all locking arrangements are compliant with applicable codes.
- Works with and maintains electronic and card‑access systems, powered door operators, and presence detectors.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding
- Experience and formal training as a door and access technician.
- Valid driver’s license may be required.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly Prefer locksmith and auto door experience

- Experience in a healthcare setting.
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs.
- Frequent interactions with customers requiring clear communication.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision.
- Includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set‑up and use.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment up to heavy items.
- Will also work on hands and knees, bend to set‑up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
- Use of hand and power tools with proper hearing and eye protection.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures, noisy or constricted spaces, and odors.
