Job Summary

Ready to build something bigger? Colorado West Construction is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager with a proven track record managing large-scale ground-up retail and grocery construction projects. The ideal candidate has extensive General Contracting experience, thrives in fast-paced retail environments, and can successfully manage projects from preconstruction through closeout while meeting strict client schedules and budget expectations. This role is critical to delivering successful projects throughout the Western United States and requires close collaboration with Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal teams.

The Role

As a Project Manager, you'll be responsible for leading ground-up retail and grocery construction projects from award through closeout. You'll oversee project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, documentation, and client communication while partnering closely with field teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

What You'll Do
  • Manage the full lifecycle of ground-up retail and grocery construction projects.
  • Collaborate with Superintendents to maintain project schedules and support two-week look-ahead planning.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, procurement, and project logistics.
  • Lead Owner, Architect, and Contractor (OAC) meetings and serve as the primary client contact.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, subcontractor buyout, contracts, and change orders.
  • Oversee RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, change events, and project documentation in Procore.
  • Identify schedule risks early and implement recovery plans.
  • Support punch list completion, project closeout, warranties, and final turnover.
  • Travel to active jobsites throughout the Western U.S. as needed.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience with a Commercial General Contractor.
  • Proven experience managing ground-up retail and grocery construction projects.
  • Experience supporting projects with fixed store opening dates and national retail clients.
  • Strong knowledge of budgets, forecasting, subcontractor buyout, contracts, and change management.
  • Ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of retail construction sequencing and turnover requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the Western U.S.
Preferred
  • Experience with national retail brands, grocery chains, or large-format commercial projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Compensation & Benefits
  • $100,000 - $160,000 annually DOE
