Job Title

Cath Lab Unit (Full-time, Day Shift)
* May be eligible for $9,000 sign‑on bonus

Job Summary

The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) works as a team member performing simple and complex diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional invasive cardiovascular and angiographic procedures. Applies discretion and independent judgment to the provision of age‑specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient care and seeks assistance as necessary. Participates in the development of standards of care, patient and family education and staff education to address the needs of this specialized patient population.

Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands cardiovascular and interventional knowledge base and clinical skills. Meets qualifications, licensure and certifications, and competencies as defined in the unit and departmental‑specific Plan for Providing Care. Participates in educational activities, departmental committees, approved research projects and other health‑related projects as assigned. Provides direction and guidance in the proper use, care and control of material resources;

appraises quality and effectiveness of material and equipment and communicates to responsible individuals. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience

Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school required. Recent appropriate nursing practice (within past four years) or completion of approved refresher course. Minimum two years experience working in a Cath or Angio Lab performing Diagnostic and Interventional simple and complex procedures required. Candidates with over 2 years of critical care experience may be considered in lieu of Cath Lab experience.

Knowledge

and Skills

Physical and emotional stamina. Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. Understanding of the department specialty process. Ability to read and interpret data and document appropriately. Able to read, write legibly and speak in English (Spanish preferred). Use computer and software necessary to the position (Microsoft Windows, Office, internet, timekeeping, e‑mail). Troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment (IV pumps, ECG monitors, vital sign machines, bed and gurney operation).

Communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; assertive and consistent in following and enforcing policies. Lead, supervise, teach and collaborate; accept direction. Ability to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify various sounds associated with the workplace and patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents needed to position;

discern temperature variances through touch.

Licensures and Certifications

Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association required.
