Senior Estimator

Job Description

A highly respected, long-standing commercial construction firm in the Pittsburgh market is seeking a Senior Estimator to join its growing preconstruction team. This company is known for its strong client relationships, impressive repeat business, and a portfolio that spans healthcare, education, commercial, institutional, and corporate projects across Western Pennsylvania.

As a Senior Estimator, you'll play a key role in early project strategy-leading conceptual budgeting, detailed cost estimating, value engineering, subcontractor engagement, and GMP development. You'll work closely with project teams, architects, and clients to ensure accurate scopes, competitive pricing, and a seamless transition from preconstruction to operations.

What You'll Do:
• Develop conceptual and detailed estimates for commercial and institutional projects

• Lead bid strategy, subcontractor outreach, scope reviews, and buyout coordination

• Produce accurate budgets, quantity takeoffs, and cost models

• Manage value engineering exercises and collaborate on design-phase solutions

• Present estimates and recommendations to internal leadership and clients

• Mentor junior estimators and help elevate the preconstruction process

What You Bring:
• Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or Estimator in commercial construction

• Strong understanding of conceptual estimating, CM/GC delivery, and negotiated work

• Competency with industry-standard software (Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Procore, etc.)

• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and bid dates with accuracy

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with owners, A/E teams, and subs

• Experience in healthcare, education, corporate interiors, or ground-up commercial projects preferred
