ELL Coordinator

Stipend: $2,350 - payable per stipend schedule
Summary:
The ELL Coordinator will implement the ELL program for both the middle and high schools. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for the investment of additional time outside of his/her regular work schedule/hours to satisfactorily meet the expectations of the position.
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate the ELL program for 21st Century Cyber Charter School for students in both active and monitoring status of the program.
- Works with the ELL teacher to establish a language acquisition program
- Maintain all records and data required by state and federal entities.
- Demonstrate knowledge of research-based principles and effectively collaborate with teachers to implement those practices into the content area.
- Consult with teachers one-on-one or in small groups to facilitate interventions for effective instruction.
- Develop yearly professional development for all staff to provide best practices, assessments, scaffolds, sensitivity training, and district initiatives.
- Administer the WIDA and ACCESS assessment during the mandated testing window
- Provide leadership through collaboration with ELD staff to ensure continued cohesiveness and quality instruction and annual certification of ACCESS and WIDA Screener assessments.
- Provide leadership through data analysis of ELL performance, including yearly progress toward per state standards.
- Support 21
CCCS in identification, placement, and quarterly progress monitoring of all exited ELL students. - Continually observe and monitor the program for updates and recommended changes in ELL best interests.
- Address teacher, parent, administration, and community needs to include requests for program changes and policy initiatives.
- Ensure all ELL students receive equitable educational services per federal civil rights legislation (Lau v. Nicholas, 1974).
- Coordinate with Special Education to assure all ELL students with special needs have a cohesive program where all academic program needs are addressed.
- Maintain the expenditure budget for the program.
- Complete tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to motivate/lead teams and individuals in conjunction with Administration.
- Master's degree preferred, Program Specialist certificate, English as a Second Language required.
- Successful completion of the School's induction program; satisfactory (or better) annual evaluations for the prior two (2) years.
