Schedule: Part-Time (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)

Reports To: Preschool Teacher and Principal

Position Summary: Mother of Sorrows School is seeking a caring, dependable, and faith-filled individual to serve as a Part-Time Preschool Aide in our Pre-K 4 classroom. The Preschool Aide supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that promotes the spiritual, academic, social, emotional, and physical development of young children in accordance with the mission and values of Catholic education.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assist the classroom teacher with daily instructional activities and classroom preparation.
• Supervise and engage students during classroom lessons, centers, recess, lunch, and other activities.
• Support students with age-appropriate learning, social skills, and positive behavior.
• Prepare classroom materials, learning centers, and educational resources.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Assist with student arrival, dismissal, and transitions throughout the school day.
• Encourage respectful behavior and model Christian values through words and actions.
• Communicate effectively with the classroom teacher regarding student needs and classroom activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and follow school policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or principal.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
• Experience working with preschool or young children is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team.
• Demonstrated patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
• Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
• Must successfully complete all diocesan employment requirements, including background clearances and Safe Environment training.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to actively supervise and assist young children throughout the school day.

Work Schedule: This is a part-time position serving the Pre‑K 4 class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the school year.
