Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and permitting all aspects of drinking water distribution/transmission system extensions, replacements, and relocation projects, in addition to other assigned projects. This position reports to the Manager of Operations, Engineering.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $125,000. The final agreed upon salary is negotiable, dependent upon experience and qualifications.

(This is an in-person position, not a remote position)

Requirements / Skills / Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college/university.
  • Professional Engineer’s License issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or a reciprocal state.
  • A thorough understanding and working knowledge of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) design Rules and Regulations. Experience preparing PennDOT Forms, Applications, and Construction Drawings is necessary.
  • Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan design and permitting experience.
  • An understanding of the PA One-Call Law.
  • A working knowledge of pressurized drinking water system design.
  • A thorough understanding of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s (PADEP) Drinking Water Rules and Regulations including permit application preparation experience.
  • A working knowledge of geographic information systems. Experience developing and using hydraulic modeling of drinking water systems will be considered advantageous.
  • The knowledge and ability to use EXCEL, WORD, AUTO CAD CIVIL 3-D, and ESRI ARC-PRO.
  • Self-motivation with the aptitude to work alone or in conjunction with internal and/or external team members.
  • The ability to interact amicably with co-workers, governmental and regulatory personnel, outside design professionals, contractors, and potential developers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and comprehension skills.
  • A valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and reliable means of transportation.
