Job Purpose:

The Sr. Officer – Operational Excellence analyzes, redesigns, and improves business processes across the Bank to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and cost optimization.

He/ She applies structured process improvement methodologies and supports transformation initiatives to ensure processes align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

The Sr. Officer – Operational Excellence strengthens process discipline, standardization, and continuous improvement across banking operations.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Supports the development and execution of Operational Excellence and process improvement initiatives across the Bank.
  • Applies continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and BPM, to enhance efficiency, quality, and service delivery.
  • Facilitates process mapping, value stream mapping, root-cause analysis, and waste elimination exercises.
  • Analyzes data, performance metrics, and stakeholder inputs to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Supports cross-functional improvement projects and enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Assists in redesigning and optimizing end-to-end processes across departments.
  • Supports change impact assessments, readiness evaluations, and stakeholder analysis for improvement initiatives.
  • Assists in developing and executing communication and training plans to support change adoption.
  • Supports benefits realization tracking and post-implementation reviews.
  • Develops and documents standard operating procedures for banking operations in a clear and structured manner.
  • Reviews and updates existing SOPs to reflect regulatory, policy, and process changes.
  • Collaborates with department heads and subject matter experts to ensure SOPs reflect best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Ensures process documentation aligns with regulatory standards, internal controls, and audit expectations.
Qualifications and

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • A professional certification in process improvement, operational excellence, or quality management (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, CBOS Operational Excellence Professional Certificate, etc.) is highly desired.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in process re-engineering or operational excellence roles, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, reviewing, and managing procedures and SOPs.
  • Strong knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and BPM.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards within the banking industry.
  • Proficiency in process mapping, analysis, and documentation tools.
