Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of projects, automations, and process enhancements within the finance department.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for strategic finance initiatives and act as an enabler for initiatives in other departments.
  • Ensure accounting policies and procedures are fully documented and regularly updated.
  • Monitor the bank’s general ledger, including substantiation, reconciliation, and controls over balances and GL parameters; perform balance proofing, overdue analysis, aging cleanup, documentation, follow‑up, issue resolution, and system parameter review/control.
  • Prepare presentation decks for internal MIS reporting on other assets, other liabilities, routing accounts, control, and suspense accounts.
  • Address and resolve queries from auditors, management, and other business departments.
  • Provide support for the preparation of statutory and interim accounts.
  • Manage VAT compliance: prepare monthly and quarterly control reports, reconcile VAT and general ledger balances across multiple systems, prepare and submit VAT returns, compute input‑tax‑credit ratios, pay VAT liabilities to tax authorities, and record relevant VAT‑related accounting entries.
  • Respond to VAT‑related queries from businesses, compliance auditors, and tax authorities.
  • Maintain documentation and record management for VAT audits and handle ad‑hoc queries from tax authorities.
  • Support additional ad‑hoc requirements related to the profile and internal backup and succession planning for finance units.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Chartered Accountant qualification.
  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong managerial and functional skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other IT tools.
