Job Title: Treasury & Insurance Manager

Duration: 1 year subject to renewal

Location: Muscat

Reporting To: CFO

Overview

Lead the organization’s treasury, insurance and investment strategies, driving optimal financial decisions and supporting the company’s financial goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial debt management, insurance and investment strategies, processes and controls to achieve business objectives.
  • Exercise governance of treasury and insurance functions, including ERP integration and H2H banking connectivity.
  • Collaborate with legal, procurement, business development, asset management, operations and risk teams to provide strategic guidance on funding, investments, risk transfer and insurance.
  • Obtain approval from executive management on key financial and insurance decisions impacting long‑term growth and protection.
  • Build and maintain relationships with banks, insurers, reinsurers, brokers, government bodies and shareholders.
  • Identify funding sources and optimal structures to maintain liquidity, including SEF, CF, WC, etc.
  • Implement treasury strategies and policies to optimize cash flow and liquidity management.
  • Develop risk‑management policies to mitigate risks inherent in the mining industry.
  • Support business development in originating and negotiating marketing agreements with international traders.
  • Evaluate creditworthiness of potential partners and counterparts such as contractors and joint ventures.
  • Monitor financial market conditions, commodity prices, interest rates and currency fluctuations to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Recommend investment strategies to maximize returns while managing risk.
  • Manage debt and interest‑rate exposure, including refinancing and restructuring.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and accounting standards related to treasury activities.
  • Provide expert advice on treasury matters to senior management and other departments.
  • Collaborate across departments to align financial strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Prepare and present timely treasury reports to management and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and study IPO initiatives at group or subsidiary level.
  • Develop and implement the company’s insurance strategy, ensuring alignment with group policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Review insurance policies regularly to ensure adequate and cost‑effective coverage.
  • Negotiate insurance renewals and tendering processes with insurers and brokers.
  • Manage the end‑to‑end insurance‑claims process from incident reporting to settlement.
  • Collaborate with HSE, operations and asset management to incorporate preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of policies, endorsements, schedules and claims.
Qualifications
  • B.Sc. in Finance or Accounts (required).
  • M.Com in Finance or Banking (required); MBA optional.
  • CFA Level III or Level II (optional).
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a treasury or insurance role.
  • Experience in corporate treasury across commodities, structured finance and project finance.
  • Experience with structured finance transactions including CF, WC, EBL, RCF and export‑element deals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local and regional markets and key players.
  • Proven track record in treasury, investments, risk, procurement coordination and insurance portfolios.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word).
