Acciona‑Sogex is recruiting on behalf of a prestigious client for an experienced Head of Business Development & Research based in Muscat, Oman.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior investment professional to lead strategic business development, investment research, and portfolio management initiatives within a dynamic investment environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving investment strategies, overseeing portfolio performance, identifying growth opportunities, and leading a high‑performing team. The role is based in Muscat and offers the opportunity to contribute to the long‑term success of a well‑established organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Business Development & Research function and provide strategic direction.
- Oversee investment research, financial modelling, and equity valuation activities.
- Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance, providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Identify business growth opportunities and support investment decision‑making.
- Conduct financial, commercial, and market analysis to support strategic initiatives.
- Develop executive reports, presentations, and investment recommendations.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of investment and research professionals.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Investment Management, or a related discipline (Master's degree or MBA is an advantage).
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in investment management, corporate finance, private equity, sovereign wealth funds, asset management, or strategic investment.
- Proven experience leading business development, investment research, and portfolio management functions.
- Strong expertise in financial modelling, investment analysis, company valuation, and portfolio performance management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders.
- Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to identify and evaluate investment opportunities.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Bloomberg or similar financial platforms is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
Arabic language skills are advantageous.
