The purpose of the role is to safeguard the financial stability and success of our investment portfolios by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks inherent in our diverse range of assets. The job holder will play a crucial role in shaping our risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and fostering a risk‑aware culture within the organization.
Job Responsibilities- Conduct thorough risk assessments on various investment portfolios, analyzing market trends, financial instruments, and industry dynamics.
- Evaluate credit, market, operational, and liquidity risks associated with different investment strategies.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of investment portfolios, identifying potential risks and proposing risk mitigation strategies.
- Utilize quantitative and qualitative methods to assess portfolio risk and exposure.
- Stay abreast of industry regulations and ensure that investment activities comply with relevant laws and guidelines.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to implement and enforce regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with portfolio managers and investment teams to implement risk mitigation strategies and enhance risk‑adjusted returns.
- Identify and recommend hedging strategies to manage market and credit risks effectively.
- Prepare comprehensive risk reports for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key risk exposures and mitigation efforts.
- Communicate risk‑related insights and recommendations clearly and effectively to internal teams and external partners.
- Coordinate the review, updating, and testing of the Company’s Business Continuity Plans including Disaster Recovery Processes.
- Deliver consistent messages on the importance of risk management when engaging staff at all levels in order to help create a risk culture.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years experience in a similar industry.
