The Credit Risk & Corporate Banking Auditor serves asthe subject matter expert within Internal Audit for Corporate Banking, Credit Risk Management, and related risk governance frameworks. The role is responsible for leading and executing complex audits covering corporate lendingactivities, credit underwriting, portfolio management, credit administration,problem accounts, risk rating methodologies, regulatory compliance, and credit risk governance. The position provides independent assurance on the effectiveness of controls, risk management practices, and governance processes related to corporate banking and credit risk activities, while supporting the Internal Audit function in identifying emerging risks and recommending strategic improvements aligned with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1.Audit Planning & Execution
- Lead and execute risk-based audits across Corporate Banking, SME Banking, Credit Risk Management, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk,, Enterprise Risk Management, Credit Administration, Recovery, and other risk-related functions.
- Developaudit plans, scoping & risk assessments, and testing programs based on theBank's risk profile, regulatory requirements, and emerging risks.
- Conduct audit fieldwork through interviews, walkthroughs, testing, and analysis toassess the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes.
- Ensureaudit assignments are completed in accordance with approved auditmethodologies, professional standards, and regulatory expectations.
- Preparecomprehensive audit working papers and maintain sufficient documentation tosupport audit conclusions and recommendations.
- Assess theadequacy and effectiveness of risk management frameworks, governance structures, policies, procedures, and internal controls across the Bank.
- Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls relating to Credit Risk,Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, , and Enterprise Risk Management activities.
- Review the effectiveness of risk identification, measurement, monitoring, reporting, and escalation processes.
- Assess compliance with approved risk appetite statements, risk limits, delegatedauthorities, and internal governance requirements.
- Evaluate the quality, accuracy, and reliability of risk management information and reporting used to support management decision-making.
- Conduct end-to-end reviews of Corporate Banking, SME Banking, and lending-related activities, including customer onboarding, credit risk assessment,underwriting, approval, documentation, disbursement, monitoring, restructuring,and recovery processes.
- Assess the effectiveness of credit risk controls throughout the lending lifecycle and evaluate portfolio monitoring practices.
- Reviewcompliance with approved credit policies, regulatory requirements, anddelegated authorities.
- Evaluate the adequacy of controls surrounding problem accounts, restructuringactivities, and recovery processes.
- Assess compliance with applicable banking regulations, Basel requirements, internal policies, and governance frameworks.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of governance committees, risk oversight mechanisms, and management monitoring activities.
- Identify emerging regulatory and industry risks that may impact the Bank's risk profile and control environment.
- Prepareclear, concise, and risk-focused audit reports highlighting root causes, risk implications, and actionable recommendations.
- Presentaudit findings and recommendations to senior management and relevant governancecommittees.
- Engage with stakeholders to discuss audit observations, agree corrective actions, and monitor implementation progress.
- Engage with regulators, external auditors, and senior stakeholders on matters relating to IFRS 9 provisioning, ECL model risk, stress testing, capital adequacy, andprudential regulatory expectations.
- Follow upon outstanding audit findings and validate the effectiveness of remediationactions.
- Act as asubject matter expert on risk management, lending activities, and corporatebanking audits.
- Lead and oversee audits and independent reviews of IFRS 9, Expected Credit Loss (ECL),and ICAAP frameworks, providing assurance over methodology design, governance,controls, regulatory compliance, and effectiveness of implementation.
- Challenge and assess the appropriateness of ECL models, staging approaches, macroeconomicscenarios, stress-testing methodologies, and capital adequacy assessments,ensuring alignment with regulatory and accounting requirements.
- Support the development of the annual audit plan through risk assessments and audituniverse reviews.
- Contributes to the enhancement of audit methodologies, tools, and data analytics capabilities.
