Internal Audit Manager
The Integrated Gas Company (IGC), established in December 2022, is mandated to manage all allocations, assets, rights, and obligations related to the purchase, sale, import, export, and transportation of natural gas and related products on behalf of the government of the Sultanate of Oman. IGC focuses on improving the efficiency of gas sector management and ensuring effective implementation of contractual terms with producers and consumers.
The company develops gas allocation strategies aligned with government policies on gas pricing and quantities allocated to various sectors. By selling gas to gas-based projects and related activities, IGC aims to increase economic activity and enhance domestic value in the gas sector. - Develop and deliver the organization's risk-based Internal Audit Plan in accordance with international auditing standards.
- Provide independent assurance on governance, risk management, internal controls, compliance, and operational effectiveness across the organization.
- Lead financial, operational, IT, commercial, strategic project, and compliance audits, including gas commercial and revenue assurance activities.
- Conduct audits of procurement, In-Country Value (ICV), Omanisation, and corporate governance processes to support regulatory compliance and organizational objectives.
- Present audit findings, recommendations, and assurance reports to Executive Management, the Board Audit & Risk Committee, and other governance forums.
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and promote continuous improvement across the organization.
- Lead fraud investigations, special reviews, and advisory engagements as required.
- Implement data-driven auditing techniques and continuous auditing methodologies to improve audit effectiveness and coverage.
- Build and develop a high-performing Internal Audit team while supporting Omanisation and succession planning initiatives.
- Maintain effective relationships with regulators, external auditors, and key government stakeholders.
- Minimum 10 years' relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional qualification such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, CISA, CRMA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Strong Analytical Skills, including the ability to assess risks, interpret data, and evaluate complex operational and financial processes.
- Solid Finance and Accounting knowledge, with experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and understanding of gas or energy sector transactions.
- Expertise in Internal Controls design and evaluation, including governance frameworks, risk management, and compliance processes.
- Experience in internal audit or assurance functions, ideally within energy, utilities, or large governmental or corporate organizations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
