Financial Manager
Our client is looking for a Finance Director to be based in Muscat, Oman. As a Finance Director, you will provide financial leadership and strategic guidance to the business, ensuring compliance with IFRS, local regulations, and group standards. You will serve as a key business partner to country management, supporting commercial, operational, and financial decision-making across the organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Control
- Lead all accounting, financial reporting, and control activities in accordance with Group standards
Oversee:
Balance Sheet management, Profit & Loss reporting, Cash Flow reporting, Accruals and prepayments, Account reconciliations
Deliver detailed business performance analysis and recommend corrective action plans where required
Budgeting & Business Performance
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes in collaboration with country and regional management
Tax & Banking Management
- Manage tax reporting and submissions in accordance with Omani regulations. Develop tax optimization strategies while ensuring full compliance
Commercial & Operational Support
- Support commercial teams in evaluating tenders and identifying financial, legal, and tax risks. Assist in costing, pricing, and contract reviews
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a finance team of four professionals. Manage relationships with the Shared Service Center and key stakeholders
Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
Professional qualification preferred: CMA, Chartered Accountant (CA), ICWAI. Equivalent professional certification
Minimum 7-10 years of progressive finance experience
Minimum 3-4 years in a Finance Director, Finance Manager, or similar senior leadership role
International exposure is essential
Strong understanding of: IFRS reporting, Financial controls, Budgeting and forecasting, Tax compliance, Internal audits, Risk management
Strong business partnering and operational finance experience
Experience managing finance teams and shared services environments
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and financial reporting tools
Fluency in English is mandatory, Arabic language skills would be advantageous
Ability to travel to project sites and remote locations within Oman
