Senior Accountant
Role
Summary:
The role holder is responsible for effectively control all financial parameters of the business. Reports to Finance Head.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports under US / IFRS GAAP;
- Prepare detailed P L of the business, highlighting poor performance and opportunities;
- Liaise with auditors for quarterly review and final audit;
- Take complete responsibility of all taxes statutory compliance;
- Provide analytical support to the business and continually improves financial systems and data;
- Work with the local Retail teams to produce robust budgets and monthly business forecast;
- Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the actual business performance compared to the budgeted plans;
- Effectively plan cash flow and manage working capital needs;
- Provide weekly performance report to the Retail team highlighting trends and opportunities to assist in improving profits, margins and reducing costs;
- Identify risks and opportunity areas to the forecasts;
- Liaise with the Corporate Finance team on key areas of financial control;
- Work with local Retail team to ensure ordering and receipt of goods is done effectively;
- Ensure all weekly/periodic data is collected and credited and numbers are reviewed;
- Conduct and oversee internal reviews, audits periodically to ensure that compliance procedures are followed;
- Ensure and verify that all regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated;
- Assess compliance risk & ensure adequate control mechanisms are in place for minimizing/ managing risks.
- Prepare MIS;
- Any other responsibility given by the Management time to time.
- Timely & accurate financial reporting.
- On time & accurate budget vs actual performance analysis
- Efficient inventory & working capital management
Five to eight years of work experience, ideally from Oman having good understanding of local banking, taxation and statutory compliance;
Excellent knowledge of MS office applications specially MS Excel
Excellent knowledge in managing large database, analysis and creating MIS reports, SAP - FICO Module knowledge is important but not mandatory
Language CapabilityEnglish and Arabic (reading)
Base LocationMuscat, Oman however, ready to travel & stay across Oman based on business requirements.
QualificationInter CA preferred, with good academics. Ideally an India National expat.
Gross SalaryOMR 600 - 700 pm plus accommodation and local transport
PayRO600.000 - RO700.000 per month
