Aviation Legal Contract Consultant will provide specialized legal support and advisory services for the airline/aviation sector. The role focuses on reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts, ensuring compliance with aviation laws, regulations, and corporate policies. The consultant will support strategic decision-making by providing clear legal guidance and risk mitigation strategies in commercial and operational contracts.
Responsibilities- Draft, review, and negotiate aviation-related contracts, including but not limited to aircraft purchase/lease agreements, service agreements, ground handling contracts, maintenance contracts, and partnership agreements.
- Ensure all contracts comply with national and international aviation laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to management and operational teams on contract interpretation, rights, and obligations.
- Identify legal risks in contracts and propose mitigation strategies to protect the company’s interests.
- Support dispute resolution and coordinate with external legal counsel when required.
- Maintain contract databases and track key contractual milestones and obligations.
- Stay updated on aviation law developments, industry trends, and regulatory changes that may impact contractual obligations.
- Assist in developing standard templates and guidelines for contracts to ensure consistency and compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB or equivalent from a recognized institution).
- A minimum of 10 years of specialized experience in contract drafting, review, and negotiation within a large corporate environment, or equivalent experience at a reputable law firm.
- Proven, substantial experience in advising on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English are mandatory for contract drafting and cross-cultural negotiation.
- Prior experience in the aviation, logistics, or transportation industries is a significant advantage.
- Deep working knowledge and application of Omani commercial and corporate laws.
- Mastery of Contract Law:
Advanced analytical and interpretative skills for complex commercial contracts. - Highly developed negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to achieve favourable terms while maintaining strong commercial relationships.
- Unwavering attention to detail, accuracy, and precision in all documentation and correspondence.
- Superior organizational ability, capable of managing multiple high-priority contract deadlines simultaneously and operating effectively under pressure.
- Demonstrates the highest standards of professional ethics, discretion, and confidentiality required of an in-house counsel
