We are seeking a highly experienced senior shipping professional with 25+ years of progressive experience in Container Line, Liner Shipping, or Shipping Agency operations. The role will provide regional/group-level leadership and strategic oversight
, with responsibility for managing and guiding 5+ General Managers across multiple locations
.
- Provide strategic leadership and overall governance for the Shipping Agency business across multiple locations.
- Oversee and guide 5+ General Managers
, ensuring alignment with regional business objectives, operational standards, and financial targets. - Drive overall P&L performance, revenue growth, profitability, and business expansion across the region.
- Set strategic direction for Commercial, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and Administration functions.
- Monitor the performance of individual locations and General Managers through defined financial, commercial, operational, and customer KPIs
. - Develop and execute regional business plans, budgets, forecasts, and growth strategies.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with Container Line Principals, Shipping Lines, Ports, Terminals, NVOCCs, Freight Forwarders, and key customers
. - Drive commercial growth through market expansion, new trade opportunities, strategic partnerships, tenders, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure consistent operational excellence, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and service quality across all locations.
- Provide strategic guidance on vessel operations, container logistics, port coordination, customer service, and agency management.
- Lead senior leadership teams, strengthen organizational capabilities, and drive succession planning and leadership development.
- Identify market trends, business risks, and growth opportunities and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
- 25+ years of overall experience in Shipping Agency, Container Line, or Liner Shipping.
- Strong experience in senior/regional/group-level leadership roles with responsibility for multiple locations or business units.
- Proven experience leading and managing senior leadership teams, including multiple General Managers
. - Strong track record of P&L ownership, commercial growth, business development, and regional operations management
. - Experience with internationally recognized Container Line / Liner Shipping companies preferred.
- Strong exposure to Middle East, Asia, or Africa markets is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline.
MBA/Master’s preferred.
