Overview
The Industrial Specialist identifies, develops, and secures new business opportunities aligned with shipyard workshop capabilities, focusing on industrial and oil & gas sectors. The role generates qualified leads and supports growth of fabrication, mechanical, machining, steel structure, and maintenance services.
Responsibilities- Business Development & Lead Generation:
Identify and qualify new business leads in the industrial and oil & gas sectors; map market opportunities relevant to the shipyard's workshop capabilities (fabrication, steel works, mechanical works, blasting & painting, machining, valves, etc.); establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers including contractors, EPC companies, and industrial operators. - Market Research & Analysis:
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and project announcements; provide regular market intelligence and recommend strategies to increase market penetration. - Client Engagement & Coordination:
Conduct client visits, presentations, and capability introductions; coordinate with internal technical teams to prepare proposals, quotations, and technical submissions; ensure client requirements are clearly communicated and aligned with workshop capacity and technical limits. - Proposal & Commercial Support:
Support tender processes by gathering technical inputs, pricing, and documentation; assist in preparing commercial offers that reflect the shipyard's standards, capabilities, and pricing model. - Sales Administration:
Maintain an updated CRM or lead tracking system; prepare weekly and monthly reports on leads, activities, and pipeline status. - Health, Safety & Environment:
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental management procedures within the logistics function to guarantee employee safety, compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services, and responsible environmental attitude.
- Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering field. - Minimum Experience:
At least 3 years in a commercial or business development role within industrial, oil & gas, or marine engineering sectors. - Job-Specific Knowledge &
Skills:
Industrial & Oil & Gas market knowledge; ability to identify, qualify, and develop commercial leads into tangible opportunities; technical understanding of workshop capabilities (fabrication, mechanical works, steel structures, machining, maintenance services); commercial & proposal skills (preparing quotations, offers, and proposals aligned with client needs and organizational standards). - Behavioral
Competencies:
Market awareness of industrial and oil & gas sectors; strong networking and client engagement; technical understanding of workshop-related services; organized, proactive, and target-oriented; strong commercial acumen and reporting ability.
